Asset tracking today is dependent on attaching tracking devices using M2M technologies to assets such as containers and trucks. There are several challenges in deploying these tracking devices including communications network access/coverage, deployment of readers, battery life, device logistics and geo-political limitations making end-to-end visibility difficult to achieve.
Aankhen's innovative addition of deviceless technology to its SeeTrak® software platform provides real time data to complement and fill gaps in visibility due to challenges with tracking devices. Using optical character recognition (OCR) technology Aankhen adds another new source of automated data capture to provide fact based intelligence at rail terminals, ocean ports, air ports, checkpoints and border crossings. Fact based intelligence (FBI) enables supply chain managers, customs and border security personnel to make faster and smarter decisions.
Deviceless tracking enabled by SeeTrak® makes intermodal asset tracking and in-transit visibility feasible and cost effective in countries and geographies where use of tracking devices is a challenge. SeeTrak® provides continuous in-context visibility to intermodal containers as they change modes of transportation (Truck/Rail/Ocean) in-transit to their final destination..
